Citi is looking for an experienced Applications Development Lead Analyst to join its Technology team in Tampa, FL, playing a central role in designing, building, and evolving the application systems that power critical business operations. In this senior-level position, you will lead complex systems analysis and development initiatives, partnering with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable solutions that directly support business growth and operational excellence. Responsibilities
Design and implement application systems and enhancements that enable the delivery of new products and improved business processes across multiple teams. Define and enforce SQL development standards, query optimization guidelines, and data modeling best practices, ensuring teams apply these consistently from initial design through to production deployment across the full application lifecycle. Review and validate database architectures, including indexing strategies, partitioning approaches, and data access patterns, identifying performance risks early and recommending targeted design changes to keep systems reliable under growing business demand. Lead the analysis and resolution of data quality, data lineage, and data integration challenges across interconnected systems, owning the delivery of scalable enterprise solutions that improve data accuracy, traceability, and consistency at source. Conduct structured reviews and governance assessments across SQL implementations, evaluating compliance with regulatory requirements, enterprise standards, and integration contracts with partner systems and cross-functional stakeholders. Assess and manage risk associated with system and business decisions, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations and upholding sound governance practices. Required Qualifications & Skills 10+ years of experience in a systems and data-driven analysis role, or application development with a track record of delivering in complex technical environments. Experience delivering successful technology projects, with the ability to adapt quickly as priorities shift. Demonstrated ability to guide technical teams, with clear, confident written and verbal communication skills. Hands-on experience evaluating and validating SQL-based application architectures, including performance tuning, indexing strategies, partitioning, and data access optimization at enterprise scale. Ability to ensure solutions consistently meet performance, reliability, and long-term sustainability objectives. Experience working across application development, infrastructure, and architecture teams to define and embed enterprise SQL standards and engineering best practices. Ability to mentor and technically guide development teams on database design principles, SQL coding standards, and data architecture decisions that hold up under scale and regulatory scrutiny. Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience in a relevant field. Beneficial Skills & Qualifications Broad understanding of enterprise architecture and infrastructure, and how these disciplines interact with application development. Experience working in financial services or similarly regulated industries, with familiarity in navigating governance and compliance requirements.
