As a Software Test Engineer - Hardware in the Loop (HiL) for John Deere Turf & Compact Utility (T&CU) Engineering located at Morrisville Engineering Lab (MEL), Morrisville, NC , you will: • Utilize your combined electronics, controls, & embedded SW testing skills as a core member of our team building a world-class test infrastructure for our embedded SW releases. • Develop a hardware-based verification environment which emulates physical systems interfacing with the embedded software. • Support modeling and simulation activities; working with design teams to determine appropriate simulations to validate system of system, system, and feature requirements. • Provide onsite support to install and verify new HiL units or perform modifications, upgrades, or troubleshooting for existing systems. This can include cabinets, load boxes, power supplies, I/O channels, communications networks, PCs and displays. VISA Sponsorship is NOT available for this position What Skills You Need
• Experience with (or the ability to quickly master) Tracetronic’s ecu.test embedded SW test automation environment. • Experience with MATLAB/Simulink simulation and model-based software development. • Capacity to interpret and create or maintain electrical schematics. • Strong interpersonal communication skills with ability to lead conversations and collaboration. • Strong demonstrated problem solving skills. • Ability to manage multiple tasks developing new features and handling support requests. What Makes You Stand Out
• Experience interacting with ALIARO and/or ETAS HiL hardware. • Controls development experience and experience with mechanical/electrical/mechatronic/hydraulic systems. • Experience implementing simulation infrastructure on various hardware platforms including Amazon (AWS), local clusters, or dedicated desktops or HIL units. • Product design experience in the Agriculture, Construction, Forestry, Automotive, and/or Off-road equipment industries. • Experience with the implementation or debugging of J1939 CAN protocol. • Sense of ownership, curiosity, and ability to function in a fast paced, collaborative team environment that is distributed across various time zones and locations. • Ability and experience working in a self-directed mode. Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following: • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer or Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution, or equivalent degree in a related technology field or discipline.
