McCormick Canada is seeking a full-time Sr. Associate Category Manager on the CPD Category Management Team. . This new hire will work in McCormick’s Canadian Consumer Products Division, located in the Drew Road, Mississauga, ON office [hybrid role] and report to a Category Manager II. POSITION OVERVIEW The HQ Category Management Analyst helps the business understand what is happening in the marketplace and what we should do about it. This role uses data and insights to identify trends, opportunities, and risks across our categories, customers, brands, and competitors. This is not just a reporting role. The Analyst will go beyond pulling data and building scorecards by helping explain what the numbers mean, why they matter, and what actions the business should consider next. Stakeholders will not simply come to this person for data; they will seek their perspective on what the data means and what the business should do next. The successful candidate will be analytical, curious, proactive, and able to turn complex information into clear stories and recommendations. This role works closely with Category Management, Sales, Marketing, Revenue Management, and Trade Marketing to support better decisions and stronger category growth. RESPONSIBILITIES
Analyze category, brand, customer, and item performance to identify trends, risks, and growth opportunities Translate data into clear insights, stories, and recommendations that help teams make better business decisions Own regular category reporting, scorecards, business updates, and insight summaries Support category strategies through analysis of assortment, shelving, pricing, promotion, distribution, innovation, and competitive activity Help build internal and customer-facing category stories, business reviews, best-in-class merchandising, and planning materials Monitor shopper, consumer, customer, competitor, and marketplace trends to understand what is changing and why it matters Colaborate with Category Management, Sales, Marketing, Revenue Management, and Trade Marketing to connect data, business needs, and recommended actions Improve reporting, tools, and processes so insights are easier to access, understand, and use, including Nielsen database management.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Economics, Analytics, Finance, Management, or related field 2+ years of experience in CPG, Category Management, Sales, Analytics, Revenue Management, Shopper Insights, or related role Strong analytical skills with the ability to understand data, identify patterns, and explain business implications Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint Experience using syndicated data, retailer POS data, Nielsen, Circana, Numerator, retailer portals, or similar tools Strong communication, organization, and storytelling skills Curious, proactive, detail-oriented, and comfortable working with cross-functional
