Manufacturing Engineer – Space Hardware, Amazon Leo

Amazon Leo is an initiative to increase global broadband access through a constellation of 3,236 satellites in low Earth orbit (LEO). Its mission is to bring fast, affordable broadband to unserved and underserved communities around the world. Amazon Leo will help close the digital divide by delivering fast, affordable broadband to a wide range of customers, including consumers, businesses, government agencies, and other organizations operating in places without reliable connectivity. Export Control Requirement: Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum. A Manufacturing Engineer in this role will be supporting the technician team by resolving any obstacles and working with responsible engineers to disposition non-conformances. This individual will work closely with engineering teams in specifying and building or procuring tools and line equipment for Leo hardware builds. The successful candidate has some basic experience in supporting production of space hardware through development, QTP (qualification test procedures), and flight hardware ATP (acceptance test procedures). Key job responsibilities Shift: Sunday-Wednesday 4:00PM - 2:30AM - Write work instructions, troubleshoot non-conformances and help execute critical satellite assembly build and test campaigns, including hands-on work. - Definition & implementation of Work Order and standard operating procedures - Specify, design and help procure various assembly equipment, tools and systems to meet program development requirements takt time & cost optimization planning - Review designs for manufacturability and sign off for design release - Must be willing to work off shifts and weekends as required.
