About the role
Under the L3Harris Communications Australia Global Field Services Team, the Specialist Field Engineer will work within the existing Mature Support Contract to the Commonwealth of Australia. The Specialist Field Engineer will be required to work as part of a team or as an individual to support the Australian Defence Force end users on L3Harris products.
Based in Brisbane, the Specialist Field Engineer will provide customer support to training establishments in Simpson Barracks Watsonia and the Puckapunyal Military Area. The role will involve domestic travel to military establishments to conduct training and operations support with L3Harris products.
What the role will involve
The responsibilities of your role will include the following:
• Travel to Australian Defence Force locations to provide customer services with L3Harris tactical radio products.
• Provide tactical radio operations training to the Australian Defence Force.
• Configure tactical radios and applications to support customer concept of operations.
• Provide technical planning advice to users and commanders.
• Support the design of Radio Frequency communications networks.
• Support Radio Frequency Internet Protocol networking of mobile adhoc networking waveforms.
• Conduct demonstrations on tactical radio concepts and capabilities.
• Conduct radio installations to Australian Defence Force land and maritime platforms.
• Conduct technical analysis, fault finding and troubleshooting of tactical radios and systems.
The role requires the following experience and skills
• Australian Defence Force Experience with military tactical radio equipment including training, operation, fault finding and basic maintenance.
• Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE) or equivalent.
• Minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.
• Current Commonwealth of Australia security clearance, minimum Negative Vetting (NV1).

• Experience in the operation and configuration of military tactical communication systems.
• Experience in the troubleshooting of military tactical communication systems.
• Experience in the use and operation of Battle Management Systems.
