Business Operations Specialist- Director- Core Services

We’re seeking someone to join our team as a Business Operations Specialist in Core Services to c oordinate the launch of products with the teams and third-party service providers.   In the Operations division, we partner with business units across the Firm to support financial transactions, devise and implement effective controls and develop client relationships. This is an Advanced Specialist position at Director level within Core Services, which is responsible for performing and managing product-agnostic and centralized operational services across several businesses and products.   Since 1935, Morgan Stanley is known as a global leader in financial services, always evolving and innovating to better serve our clients and our communities in more than 40 countries around the world. What you'll do in the role: Manage complex processes and/or support significant process management/project efforts Lead in process improvement, project management or technology development and testing across multiple teams and/or divisions Analyze and expose ambiguous, complex issues or non-standard issues, identify risks, root causes and propose future actions, tracking through to resolution Build and manage relationships with business unit partners, other Morgan Stanley infrastructure departments, and external contact points in Client or Market organizations Understand, communicate, and manage the new product pipeline, product development status, and launch dates. Escalate any operational concerns and assist in identifying and developing solutions. Gain an understanding of the new product and any unusual terms, reporting requirements, or accounting or structural complexities. Manage and oversee third-party service providers on an ongoing basis to ensure a high level of service What you'll bring to the role: A minimum of 8 years of experience in the investment management industry and/or with alternative investments (hedge funds, private equity funds). Excellent relationship management and communications skills are essential. Front-to-back knowledge of the processes, projects, systems, markets and instruments that influence their team with a comprehensive understanding of job-related operational/compliance policies and procedures Ability to think commercially, understand the impact of initiatives, risks on the operational budget Ability to address non-standard issues within area of expertise Culture carrier and role model, representing and leading the Firm's core values to influence and motivate those around you Strong project management skills required. Prior experience dealing with third-party service providers is a plus.
