POSITION SUMMARY The Pool Technician is responsible for the maintenance, operation, and repair of swimming pools, water features, spa pools, and associated equipment throughout the property to ensure a safe, clean, and enjoyable environment for guests and associates. The role supports the Engineering Department by monitoring water quality, maintaining pool systems, and performing preventive maintenance while ensuring compliance with health, safety, and operational standards. This Role has 3 vacancies. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES I. Pool Operations & Maintenance
Inspect, maintain, and operate swimming pools, spa pools, water features, pumps, filters, and related equipment. Monitor and maintain water quality, chemical levels, and pool balance in accordance with health and safety standards. Perform routine cleaning, vacuuming, and maintenance of pools and surrounding areas. Diagnose and repair pool equipment, plumbing, filtration systems, and associated components. Conduct preventive maintenance to ensure optimal performance and reliability of pool systems. Support refurbishment, renovation, and engineering projects as required.
II. Work Orders & Inventory
Respond to pool maintenance requests promptly and professionally. Monitor and maintain inventory of pool chemicals, testing supplies, tools, and spare parts. Order and manage pool maintenance supplies through approved purchasing processes. Maintain accurate records of inspections, chemical readings, repairs, and maintenance activities.
III. Guest Service & Teamwork
Maintain positive relationships with guests and associates. Ensure pool facilities remain clean, safe, and operational at all times. Minimize disruption to hotel operations while carrying out maintenance work. Coordinate with Engineering and other departments to ensure timely resolution of maintenance issues. Maintain clean and organized work areas at all times.
IV. Safety & Compliance
Follow company safety, security, and maintenance procedures. Ensure the safe handling, storage, and use of pool chemicals and maintenance equipment. Report hazards, accidents, equipment malfunctions, and safety concerns promptly. Ensure compliance with health regulations, water quality standards, workplace health and safety requirements, and company policies. Maintain a professional appearance and comply with company standards.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Trade Certificate or equivalent qualification in Pool Operations, Engineering, Plumbing, Mechanical Services, or a related field. Minimum 2 years of pool maintenance, engineering, facilities maintenance, or related experience. Knowledge of swimming pool systems, pumps, filters, water treatment, and chemical balancing. Experience in hospitality, resort, commercial, or recreational facility environments is advantageous. Ability to safely handle pool chemicals and operate maintenance equipment. Good communication and problem-solving skills. Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays as required. Must have working rights in Fiji.
