About this role
Citi is looking for an experienced Senior Manager, IT Project Management to lead the end-to-end delivery of large-scale, enterprise-wide technology programmes at a senior level. In this role, you will direct cross-functional technology teams, set strategic direction for complex projects, and hold full accountability for outcomes across budget, people, and delivery. This is a high-impact leadership position operating at the intersection of technology strategy and programme execution within Citi's global technology function.
Responsibilities
Lead the full technology lifecycle of multiple complex, enterprise-scale projects — from planning and resource allocation through to delivery and reporting. Define and own detailed IT work plans, project schedules, resource models, and executive-level status reports to keep programmes on track and stakeholders informed. Set strategic direction for all technology workstreams under management, ensuring alignment with broader organisational objectives and long-term planning horizons. Manage team performance across all dimensions — including hiring decisions, compensation reviews, performance evaluations, and disciplinary actions where required. Establish staffing standards and guidelines to ensure teams are structured appropriately to meet operational and delivery demands. Influence and negotiate with senior leaders across technology and business functions to align priorities, resolve cross-functional issues, and drive accountable outcomes. Identify, assess, and manage risks arising from project decisions, ensuring compliance with applicable policies, regulations, and ethical standards — and escalating control issues with transparency where necessary. Required Qualifications & Skills 10 or more years of experience in a technology-related role, with significant and demonstrable people management experience at a senior level. Proven ability to lead and deliver multiple, highly complex technology projects simultaneously, including programmes with enterprise-wide scope. Deep understanding of IT project leadership practices — including planning, scheduling, budgeting, and cross-functional resource management. Strong commercial acumen, with the ability to connect technology delivery decisions to business outcomes and organisational risk. Demonstrated ability to negotiate and influence senior stakeholders across functions, including at executive level. Experience applying risk and control frameworks to technology project decisions, with a clear understanding of regulatory and policy obligations. Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience in a relevant field. Beneficial Skills & Qualifications A Master's degree in a relevant discipline such as Computer Science, Engineering, or Business. Familiarity with large-scale enterprise technology environments and the ability to operate across multiple business lines or geographic regions. Experience contributing to the definition of standards and governance frameworks within a technology function.
