Position Summary
The Campground Host will provide campers with a serene and nurturing environment, ensuring cleanliness and hospitality for everyone to enjoy the park at their leisure. This role pays an hourly rate of $13.00-$16.00 Benefits for Part-Time roles: 401(k) Savings Plan and 401(k) matching. This position will remain open until October 30, 2026.
About the Venue
The Thief River Falls Complex is a multi-venue complex in Thief River Falls, Minnesota. The complex includes the Ralph Engelstad Arena, Huck Olson Memorial Civic Center, the Multi Events Center, and the Thief River Falls Tourist Park.
Responsibilities
Greet and assist visitors, answer questions, and explain regulations which apply to them. Assist campers in locating a campsite, be familiar with local points of interest and the location of services that might be requested by campers such as towing, groceries, churches, tourist attractions and local events. Host will report all disturbances to mangement. Inform campers of rules and regulations. Clean campsites by performing minor maintenance tasks such as raking the campsite pad, washing tables, cleaning out fire rings, picking up litter, as well as weed trimming and partial mowing and reporting any damage to Director of Operations. Each site must be cleaned after every camper checks out and before another checks in - this may include mowing and trimming tasks. Host must set an example by being a model camper by always practicing good housekeeping in and around their assigned site and by observing all rules and regulations. Be observant for activities within the campground requiring immediate attention, ranging from a tree needing to be trimmed to a problem camper. Notify OVG Management as these problems arise. Other minor tasks that might be asked of a Campground Host: garbage pickup in park, trimming or weeding. Keep track of occupied or vacant campsites. Direct campers to vacant sites. Remind campers to register on Campspot. Will perform light maintenance work around the campground such as litter pickup, sweeping and stocking of restrooms, provide information to OVG on potential problems. Clean bathhouse twice daily. Log daily duties at park with daily checklist.
Qualifications
Ability to collaborate well with others. Ability to remain calm and friendly when confronted with upset visitors. Ability to physically make rounds through the camping area. Ability to adapt to changing work conditions. Strong knowledge of the park and surrounding area. Posses a mobile camping unit (RV or Trailer) highly preferred.
