Company: Qualcomm Incorporated Job Area: Legal Group, Legal Group > IPR Contracts General Summary: Administers, analyzes, and manages licensing agreements to provide on-going contract administration support across IP licensing areas. Manages contract management systems and conducts research to prepare reports and/or correspondence related to the maintenance of license agreements and processes. Applies and maintains current understanding of Qualcomm policies, positions, and operations as well as legal guidelines related to IP licensing and contracts administration. This role requires full-time onsite work in San Diego, CA (5 days per week). This role is not eligible for Qualcomm immigration sponsorship. Minimum Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Criminal Justice, Contract Management, or related field. OR Associate's degree, Paralegal Certificate, IP Certificate, or equivalent and 2+ years of contract experience or related work experience. OR High School diploma or equivalent and 4+ years of contract experience or related work experience. Preferred Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree or Master's degree in Business Management, Criminal Justice, Contract Management, or related field. • Paralegal Certificate or IP Certificate. • 1+ year of contract experience. • 1+ year of relevant IP experience. Principal Duties and Responsibilities: • Assists with processing and distributing licensing agreements between finance, legal, and licensing manager with guidance. • Prepares summary of straightforward or standard licensing agreements with direction based on basic understanding of contracts administration procedures, structure, and guidelines. • Works under senior team members to help ensure licensing agreements and lifecycle are maintained according to terms. • Provides administrative assistance for correspondence to help maintain compliance with license agreements. • Inputs contract data in various contract management systems as directed, ensuring accuracy and quality of data. • Works under guidance of team members to enter data research results into contract management systems based on basic knowledge of IP licensing. • Builds an understanding of terms and conditions related to contracts. • Uses standard processes and is regularly open to learning new ways to accomplish work. • Executes individual project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables with supervision. • Follows guidance to complete projects in a timely manner. Level of Responsibility: • Works under close supervision. • Responsible for own work. Decision-making is limited. Impact of decisions is readily apparent. Errors made typically only impact timeline (i.e., require additional time to correct). • Requires verbal and written communication skills to convey basic, routine factual information about day-to-day activities to others who are fully knowledgeable in the subject area. • Works within the prescribed budgetary objectives of the department. Erroneous decisions, failure to achieve results may cause delays in schedules and result in the re-allocation of some resources. • All tasks are simple in nature, consisting of limited number of steps and can easily be referenced using directions or manuals. • Limited problem solving required, generally in the nature of troubleshooting simple processes or technology. The responsibilities of this role do not include: • Does not provide supervision to others. • Has no influence over key organizational decisions. • No creativity is required; exact processes must be followed at all times • Does not have a role in strategic planning.
