Pinterest is seeking a senior communications expert to join its International Communications team based in London. This high-impact role will oversee policy communications and provide corporate communications support across Europe, overindexing on the UK (a key market for the business).
You will be the authority on the European and UK regulatory environment, especially in how it affects tech companies. You will help amplify Pinterest's distinctive voice, ensuring external stakeholders understand our pioneering positions—such as our CEO's advocacy for banning social media for users under 16, our commitment to combating the youth mental health crisis, and our dedication to building AI responsibly.
What you'll do
• UK & European Policy Comms Lead: Monitor the policy and regulatory landscape across Europe (especially relating to online safety and AI), plan proactive campaigns, and respond strategically to emerging issues in partnership with in-house Policy teams.
• UK European Corporate Support: Adapt our global corporate narrative to resonate with local audiences and collaborate with local teams to ensure impactful comms across the region (over indexing in the UK).
• Executive Profiling & Thought Leadership: Secure relevant speaking opportunities, manage executive communications, and create op-eds or commentary that reinforce Pinterest’s role as a positive platform and our stance on protecting youth online.
• Media & Stakeholder Relations: Cultivate strong relationships with journalists, industry analysts, government bodies, and NGOs in the UK and Europe (working hand in hand with the corporate affairs team).
• Issues Management Lead: Manage rapid response to high-priority issues, including defending our bold policy stances against industry critics
What we're looking for
• 10+ years of communications experience, ideally with a technology or digital media brand (agency or inhouse).
• Demonstrated expertise in UK media and policy, with a strong grasp of EU and global regulatory environments.
• Ability to develop strategy with clear KPIs that translate for non-comms natives
• Exceptional prioritization skills and ability to decide where best to invest time and resources - understanding closely a business’ commercial goals.
• Proven track record of working directly with C-suite executives and managing complex, cross-functional projects.
• Proven track record of handling complex media issues across
