Role
Description Form Energy is hiring a Principal Strategic Capacity Planner to serve as the strategic architect behind our company-level build plans. In this critical role, you will be responsible for defining and managing long-range production planning spanning a 6-month to 5-year horizon. You will bridge the gap between top-down business strategies and floor-level execution by modeling complex scenarios—such as adding lines or shifts—and translating them into detailed, executable operational and staffing plans. Furthermore, you will act as the technical owner of our build planning software application, integrating AI-driven enhancements and new functionalities to future-proof our planning ecosystem. You will collaborate seamlessly across the Programs, Design, and Production Planning teams to ensure our build strategies are agile, accurate, and consistently up to date. This is an exciting opportunity to help shape and be part of the growth of a fast-moving company with breakthrough technology and an incredible mission! Relocation assistance is available.
What you'll do
Strategic Long-Range Planning (SIOP) Develop, maintain, and own the company-level strategic build plan spanning a 6-month to 5-year horizon. Run complex scenario analyses based on top-down business directives (e.g., evaluating the impact of adding new production lines, adjusting shift models, or scaling facilities). Translate high-level strategic scenarios into detailed, executable operational plans, including granular staffing and resource requirements. Systems Optimization & AI Integration Serve as the business owner and architect for our internal build planning software application. Identify opportunities and implement AI-driven enhancements to automate forecasting, optimize scenario modeling, and improve the overall functionality of the planning platform. Partner with software engineering and IT to guide the development roadmap for planning tools. Cross-Functional Collaboration & Execution Work cross-functionally with the Programs, Design, and Production Planning teams to ensure master build plans reflect the latest design iterations, program timelines, and operational realities. Communicate strategic build plans and scenario outcomes to executive leadership, providing clear guidance on capacity constraints and capital expenditure requirements.
