Texas NeuroRehab Center is a specialized treatment facility located ten minutes from downtown Austin on 67 wooded acres. We have served the Austin community for over 60-years and are proud of our history and tenured leadership team. Today, Texas NeuroRehab Center provides complex medical and brain injury rehab for ages 13 years and older and neurobehavioral residential treatment services for children and adolescents. The capabilities of the facility as a whole allow for integrated and specialized care for children, adolescents and adults facing difficult challenges. Fu Texas NeuroRehab Center is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physical Therapist (PT) to join the newly established Sage Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit. Cross coverage on other units as needed. The Physical Therapist will evaluate, plan, and implement individualized rehabilitation programs for patients recovering from neurological, orthopedic, traumatic, and medically complex conditions. Working as an integral member of the interdisciplinary rehabilitation team, the PT will focus on maximizing mobility, functional independence, safety, and quality of life while preparing patients and families for successful transitions to the next level of care. Essential Functions Clinical Care Perform comprehensive physical therapy evaluations and develop individualized plans of care based on patient goals and clinical needs. Provide evidence-based interventions to improve mobility, strength, balance, coordination, endurance, gait, transfers, and functional independence. Utilize therapeutic exercise, neuromuscular re-education, gait training, balance training, and functional mobility interventions. Assess patient need for assistive devices, orthotics, wheelchairs, and other mobility equipment. Monitor patient response to treatment and modify interventions as appropriate to maximize outcomes. Provide education and training to patients, families, and caregivers regarding mobility, safety, fall prevention, and home exercise programs. Participate in discharge planning to ensure safe patient transitions and continuity of care. Interdisciplinary Collaboration Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, case managers, psychologists, and other rehabilitation team members. Participate in interdisciplinary team conferences and patient care planning meetings. Contribute to the establishment and achievement of patient-centered rehabilitation goals. Documentation & Compliance Complete evaluations, daily treatment notes, progress reports, and discharge summaries accurately and within established timeframes. Ensure compliance with regulatory, accreditation, payer, and facility requirements. Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA and organizational policies. Quality & Professional Development Support continuous quality improvement initiatives and patient outcome measures. Maintain current knowledge of rehabilitation practices through continuing education and professional development. Contribute to program development and clinical excellence initiatives within the Sage Unit. Qualifications The following are the job requirements for the Physical Therapist position:
EDUCATION
Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy program with a Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctoral degree in Physical Therapy. LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION: Current Texas Physical Therapist license or eligibility for licensure. Current BLS certification.
EXPERIENCE
PREFERRED: One (1) year or more of experience in inpatient rehabilitation, acute care, neurological rehabilitation, or related setting. Experience treating patients with stroke, traumatic brain
