The Main Gate Operator is responsible for providing access control to the Longview Mill Site. This position must interact with truck drivers, suppliers, contractors and visitors to the mill. One of the key functions of the Main Gate Operator is to safely and accurately coordinate the flow of traffic to the mill. The Main Gate Operators must be willing and able to work a rotating12 hour day and night shift schedule . The application process for this position includes a pre-employment physical and drug screen.

Monitor the main entrance to the mill to ensure safety and security always being enforced Control, track and document the flow of trucks to and from the mill Coordinate with the Transportation and Logistics departments Communicate instructions to mill visitors Assist with administration of employee drug testing Miscellaneous clerical duties include filing, typing, and answering multi-line phone system Manage TeamSense software for call ins Other duties as assigned Education & Experience: Knowledge of manufacturing environment preferred Must be observant and able to quickly recognize safety and security hazards Must be able to operate within set guidelines, policies and procedures Demonstrated ability to work independently and maintain confidentiality Strong verbal and written communication skills – must be comfortable giving directions and instructions via phone, radio, and face-to-face Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) Willingness and ability to work a rotating tour shift schedule (including nights, weekends, and holidays) Compensation Offered Salary range $61,200 - $82,800 DOE Benefits Offered Smurfit Westrock offers a variety of benefits and group health insurance options, the premium costs of which are currently shared by employees and Smurfit Westrock (e.g., health, dental, vision, disability, flexible spending account, HSA, life insurance, paid time off, employee assistance program, matching 401K). The salary range for this position is $54,000.00 - $90,000.00, depending on your role, level, and location. The range listed is also the expected pay for roles in Illinois and Colorado.
