Position Overview: As our Manufacturing Engineer, Sublet you will coordinate and oversee outsourced manufacturing activities, ensuring work performed by approved external vendors meets BWXT's technical, quality, and regulatory requirements. You will provide technical oversight, manage manufacturing documentation, and support the successful execution of sublet operations by collaborating with cross-functional teams and external suppliers. In this senior role, you will also lead complex sublet projects, drive process improvements, and provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members. Location: Onsite, Cambridge ON Your Day to Day as our Manufacturing Engineer, Sublet:
Coordinate and manage outsourced manufacturing activities with approved vendors. Review and approve technical documentation to ensure compliance with engineering and quality requirements. Collaborate with Engineering, Procurement, Quality, and Production teams to support successful project execution. Investigate and resolve technical issues, discrepancies, and non-conformances with vendor-supplied work. Develop and improve sublet processes, documentation, and vendor management practices. Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements. Lead complex sublet projects while providing technical guidance and mentorship to team members. Communicate project status and technical updates with internal stakeholders, customers, and external vendors.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline. P.Eng designation, or eligibility to obtain, is preferred. 5–8 years of experience in manufacturing, vendor coordination, or production support. Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, vendor management, technical documentation, and quality requirements. Excellent organizational, analytical, communication, and relationship-building skills. Experience using ERP or work order management systems. Knowledge of the nuclear industry and Lean/Six Sigma methodologies is considered an asset.
