JOB SUMMARY

The Commercial Principal leads the development, coordination, and execution of commercial workstreams associated with large-load customer contracts. This role is responsible for consolidating internal inputs required for pricing, commercial terms, and contract package development; identifying and elevating commercial risks; and supporting leadership decision-making related to the Company’s commercial obligations. This role requires a highly motivated, self ‑ directed professional who can manage complex, cross ‑ functional collaboration amongst a variety of teams, lead strategic initiatives, and communicate and negotiate directly with customers and communicate and engage with external and regulatory stakeholders if requested by Company leadership. JOB REQUIREMENTS: Lead the commercial development of large-load contract packages, including coordination of pricing, term, and business input required for internal review and customer-ready documentation. Consolidate commercial inputs from Pricing & Rates, Finance, Legal, AFT, Transmission, System Planning and other internal stakeholders to support timely and accurate contract development. Identify, assess, and elevate commercial risks related to pricing, contractual obligations, implementation assumptions, and other commercial terms; support development of mitigation options for leadership consideration. Proactively collaborate with cross ‑ functional stakeholders to resolve commercial issues, remove barriers, and maintain alignment on meeting customer objectives and deadlines. Prepare commercial status updates, risk summaries, and decision-support materials for leadership regarding contract development, open issues, and mitigation options. Support commercial negotiations and commercial issue resolution with customers in partnership with internal stakeholders and Legal, as appropriate. Recommend and lead the implementation of process improvements that strengthen efficiency, consistency, and governance of commercial contracting activities for large-load customers. Lead special commercial workstreams related to pricing structure, contract terms, and other commercial matters as assigned by Commercial leadership. Lead emergent cross-functional strategic initiatives as requested Engage directly with customers and external and regulatory stakeholders as requested on large load customer related issues and strategies Required: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Finance, or related field or equivalent relevant work experience. Minimum of 5 years of experience in the utility industry or a closely related field. Demonstrated success managing complex, cross-functional projects with multiple stakeholders. Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills. Proven ability to work in a proactive, self-directive, and collaborative manner to drive results under tight deadlines. Proficiency with project management tools, dashboards, and reporting systems. Willingness to travel up to 25%. Not Required, but preferred: Advanced degree (MBA, MS, or equivalent) or additional relevant work experience. Experience managing commercial or contracting processes.
