Job Description
We are currently recruiting an Associate Director-Wastewater Modeller with experience in the water industry, to join our busy and expanding experienced team. The team provides assessment, concept, feasibility, preliminary and detailed designs on a wide range of projects. Our clients work for private and public sector and include long term Framework Agreements with numerous Local Authorities together with Design and Build commissions for many major Contractors. Our group has an established track record of successfully delivering water designs for many years throughout the UK&I, US, Canada, Australia and New Zealand among others. You may have the opportunity to work on some of the most iconic Water projects, being part of a diverse and multicultural team for the Enterprise Capabilities Europe Center (Poland/Spain). The responsibilities of this role include: Lead the development, calibration and verification of wastewater network models (e.g., InfoWorks ICM or similar platforms). Provide technical oversight and quality assurance across multiple projects, operating under general direction while guiding wider project teams. Deliver assignments that may span the broader field of wastewater modelling and related technical disciplines, working to defined project terms with appropriate professional review. Analyse complex datasets and modelling outputs, preparing clear, high-quality technical reports and client deliverables. Monitor and interpret data to assess the impacts of upstream activities on wastewater systems and the wider environment, ensuring compliance with relevant permits and regulatory conditions. Act as technical lead on major frameworks and modelling programmes, supporting strategic planning, storm overflow reduction, and network resilience initiatives. Mentor and develop junior team members and contribute to bids and business development activities. Actively participate in the development of the team.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements Extensive experience in wastewater network modelling within a consultancy or water utility environment. Strong proficiency in industry-standard modelling software (e.g., InfoWorks ICM). Strong understanding of UK&I water industry regulations, AMP cycles, and wastewater planning frameworks. Proven ability to lead projects and provide technical direction. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Chartered status (CEng) or working towards chartership is desirable.
Preferred Qualifications
Degree (BEng/MEng or MSc) in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Water Resources, or related discipline.• Serves as lead engineer on mid- to large size projects. Provides specialized technical input to studies and design for staff's specific area of expertise. Approves and
