Job Description
Actuarial Business Analyst III Location: This role requires associates to be in-office 1 - 2 days per week, fostering collaboration and connectivity, while providing flexibility to support productivity and work-life balance. This approach combines structured office engagement with the autonomy of virtual work, promoting a dynamic and adaptable workplace. Alternate locations may be considered if candidates reside within a commuting distance from an office. The Actuarial Business Analyst III is responsible for completing very diverse and complicated projects and performs very complex actuarial studies. This role is a relatively technical position in Cost of Care analysis, acting as expert in a business or functional area, as well as being involved in coding, maintaining, and updating UM Impact models.. Types of analyses include performing sophisticated retrospective data analytics; building or validating new and modifying existing complex models; performing healthcare cost analysis to value strategies to control costs. Provides expert advice, analytic and consultative support, working on complex enterprise-wide initiatives as project lead or co-lead. How You Will Make an Impact Primary duties may include, but are not limited to: Analyzes and implements risk contracts including conducting experience analyses, pricing, filing and settlement work; and prepares management reports supporting new capitation initiatives. Assists in training of actuarial trainees, analysts and specialists. Coordinates/directs special actuarial projects.
Minimum Requirements
Requires a BA/BS in Mathematics, Statistics or related field and a minimum of 5 years related experience in an actuarial environment performing financial reporting, rate development, evaluation of risk contingencies and trend projections; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background. Preferred Skills, Capabilities, and Experiences: Experience specific to group insurance or health insurance environments or graduate level related education may also be used to offset some years of experience. Intermediate to Advanced expertise with software such as SAS Stat, SAS ETS, SAS Enterprise Miner or equivalents(Python, R, etc) strongly preferred. Experience with Teradata, SQL, SQL Server, or equivalent strongly preferred. The ability to present meaningful results to a business audience, to participate collaboratively in a team tasked to produce complex analyses on a rigorous schedule, to communicate with strong written and verbal communications skills strongly preferred.
