The physical therapist will provide intervention to individuals who experience a loss of and/or deficiency in functional independence related to chronic, traumatic or developmental illness, impairment and/or disability. Interventions are developed with the patient and their family and/or significant other(s) as partners in the rehabilitation process. Other duties as assigned. General Responsibilities: Remain current BLS Certification. Evaluations are completed within time frames set by departmental policy Evaluations meet JCAHO, Medicare and other regulatory agency requirements. Demonstrates proficiency in basic evaluative skills. Demonstrates proficiency in evaluation of the orthopedic patient. Demonstrates proficiency in evaluation of the patient with neurological parthology. Demonstrates proficiency in basic treatment techniques. Demonstrates skills in fitting assistive devices and gait training safety. Identifies physical and psychological changes related to specific age groups. Provides instructions in language appropriate for patient’s age, avoiding medical jargon. Attends at least one conference/workshop per year an provided in-service to peers. Includes other disciplines and team members as resources during care planning processOther duties as assigned.
