Candidate will be involved in AI related research and development activities. This includes working closely with IT architects, ITBA Product teams, IT Infrastructure Operations, and Cyber Intelligence and Security teams to evaluate new tools and technologies, develop proof of value (POV) solutions, and implement AI solutions within Dominion Energy ’ s private cloud environment. Provides technical consulting and/or leadership on complex projects. Serves as technical expert in one or more areas of applications systems analysis and software development. Devises or modifies procedures to solve complex problems. Designs, codes, tests, debugs, and documents code. Works companywide in multi-platform environments, on multi-project assignments. Acts as a project work team or group leader. Guides and advises less experienced Software Engineers. Responsibilities: • Evaluate Generative AI solutions from a functional, technical, and risk standpoint • Development and implementation of Gen AI solutions to solve complex business problems and enhance operational efficiency. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate AI solutions into existing systems and workflows. • Collaborate with architects to design, code, test, and deploy modular and scalable AI architectures. • Ensure the security, performance, and reliability of AI solutions by following coding best practices and performing thorough testing and validation. • Lead and mentor less experienced software engineers on complex projects • Stay current with industry advancements and continuously seek opportunities to improve AI capabilities within the organization. • Responsible for building effective working relationships, making sound decisions, successfully making changes, initiating action and achieving results as a trusted advisor. Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience
The knowledge, skills, abilities and experiences that are required for entry into this job include the following:
10+ Years of experience in software development and systems analysis. 3+ years of experience in GenAI or AI/ML application development. 2+ years of experience in DevOps deploying Cloud hosted solutions. Advanced proficiency in .NET, React, Angular, Python, and SQL development. Advanced proficiency in working with SQL Server and Oracle databases and experience working with NoSQL databases. Advanced proficiency in developing applications using Microsoft Power Platform. Experience in developing Generative AI applications including RAG architecture, and model fine-tuning; experience with Agentic AI is a plus. Technical expertise in all aspects of application systems analysis and software development, with proven capability in creating detailed design documents. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work with large and complex datasets. Strong understanding of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. Experience in deploying AI solutions in cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, or
