Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Senior Engineer - Stormwater to join our engineering team in Al Ain, United Arab Emirates. In this role, you will lead the design, development, and implementation of comprehensive stormwater management systems for municipal and commercial projects. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong technical expertise, analytical capabilities, and a commitment to delivering efficient, sustainable solutions that meet the region's infrastructure needs. Design and develop stormwater management systems, including detention basins, retention ponds, and drainage networks, utilizing industry best practices and local regulations Conduct detailed hydraulic and hydrological analyses to assess system performance and optimize design solutions Prepare comprehensive technical specifications, engineering drawings, and construction documents using CAD software and hydraulic modeling tools Oversee project implementation from conception through completion, ensuring quality assurance and adherence to design standards Perform site inspections and assessments to evaluate existing stormwater infrastructure and identify improvement opportunities Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including architects, environmental specialists, and contractors to integrate stormwater solutions into broader project objectives Ensure all designs comply with UAE regulations, local building codes, and environmental standards Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers and support staff Manage project budgets, timelines, and resource allocation to ensure efficient project delivery Prepare detailed technical reports, feasibility studies, and environmental impact assessments Stay current with emerging technologies and industry innovations in stormwater management Qualifications Minimum 8 years of professional experience in stormwater engineering, drainage design, or related civil engineering disciplines Advanced proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD or equivalent) and hydraulic modeling software (HEC-HMS, SWMM, or similar) Strong knowledge of stormwater design standards, best management practices, and regulatory requirements Demonstrated expertise in hydraulic and hydrological analysis and modeling Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail Proficiency in project management methodologies and tools Strong written and verbal communication skills in English Ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary team environments Preferred: Professional engineering licensure or certification (PE, CEng, or equivalent) Preferred: Experience with projects in the UAE or Middle Eastern region Preferred: Familiarity with GIS software and environmental impact assessment procedures
