These positions start at $ 23.90 /HR (with $1/HR shift premium for 2nd shift positions) Job Description: This position is responsible for operating the yard truck to move and park trailers and trucks in and out of loading areas while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
Conduct pre-trip safety inspections of yard trucks and document results on required inspection forms. Proficiency in reading and writing; ability to complete on-the-job paperwork and effectively communicate across all management levels. Operate yard trucks to move trailers safely and efficiently between yard locations and dock doors. Coordinate with supervisors and receiving/shipping team members, monitor radio communications, and maintain timely, effective communication with leadership to ensure efficient trailer movement. Promptly address operational needs and report issues as they arise throughout the shift. Accurately complete required data entry, paperwork and documentation related to yard operations. Follow all company safety policies and procedures, including proper operation of equipment. Maintain eligibility requirements, including willingness to complete a non-DOT disclosure and release form for MVR review. Must be able to add fuel to all trailers and yard tractors. Ensure temperature settings on all loads are set accurately. Conduct temperature checks on all inbound and outbound trailers on the lot. Support overall yard and plant operations as needed, including performing additional duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements
The successful candidate(s) must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation. Must be willing and able to lift up to 40 lbs The Team Member will stand, walk, bend, squat, stretch, climb, push, pull and reach as required in all areas The Team Member will work outside in all weather conditions The Team Member will work on slippery walking surfaces Qualifications: Must be 18 years of age or older Must have a valid driver’s license Must not have any DUI/DWI convictions within the last 12 months Must be able to operate a yard tractor and be able to safely pull and back in trailers to and from docks.
Requirements
Must have 3 months experience listed on application (can be multiple employers but must add up to 3 months) Candidates who have previously worked for Tyson will have a minimum rehire waiting period of 365 days and are limited to 3 times of employment.
