We’re looking for a Data Engineer to join our ever evolving Data Engineering & Platform Team and help shape the future of global commerce. In this role, you’ll lead the architecture and evolution of mission-critical cloud data platforms that power insights, innovation, and decision-making across Global Payments. Your expertise will help create scalable, reliable, and secure data ecosystems that enable teams to deliver better outcomes for clients, accelerate business growth, and unlock new opportunities across the organization. Working alongside talented engineers, analysts, and business leaders, you’ll influence enterprise-wide data strategy, champion modern cloud technologies, and help ensure Global Payments remains at the forefront of a rapidly evolving digital payments landscape.
What you'll own
Shape the future of our cloud data ecosystem by designing scalable, high-performance architectures that improve data accessibility, reliability, and business decision-making across the organization. Drive the delivery of enterprise data solutions that transform complex business requirements into modern platforms, accelerating analytics, innovation, and measurable business outcomes. Lead the evolution of data engineering practices by championing automation, governance, and platform modernization initiatives that increase efficiency, strengthen data quality, and reduce operational risk. Influence technical direction and engineering excellence through architectural leadership, mentorship, and best practices that elevate team capability and enable successful delivery of strategic priorities. Optimize data platform performance and resilience by implementing scalable frameworks, security controls, and cost-efficient solutions that support long-term business growth and operational stability.
What you'll bring
Significant experience leading the architecture, design, and delivery of cloud-based data platforms, with a strong focus on large-scale data engineering and analytics environments. Deep expertise in Google Cloud Platform (GCP), including Dataflow, BigQuery, Pub/Sub, Composer (Apache Airflow), and modern cloud-native data solutions. Advanced experience designing and optimizing data warehouse and data lake architectures using Snowflake, including logical and physical data modeling. Strong proficiency in Python and Structured Query Language (SQL), with a proven track record of building scalable Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) and Extract, Load, Transform (ELT) frameworks. Demonstrated success leading complex technical initiatives, influencing stakeholders, and mentoring engineering teams to deliver high-impact business outcomes. It's a bonus if you have Experience leveraging dbt (data build tool) to create modular, scalable, and well-governed data transformation frameworks. Hands-on expertise with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) practices for data platforms. A Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
