Job Overview

This opening is for an Assembly Operator III working directly with fiber optics. This position is responsible for optical connector assembly, termination of various configurations of fiber optic cable assemblies, and testing of these cable assemblies. This individual may assist in process development and resolution of problems encountered in the process of bringing new optical products from concept to market. The individual is a self-starter and has the ability to work well under schedule pressures and ability to balance workload as priorities change. Candidates will have a strong work ethic with a desire to continually learn & with a concentrated focus on serving the Customer.  The ideal candidate works well in teams, has the desire to learn, possesses strong hand-eye coordination, and maintains the attention to detail needed to make quality products for our customers.   Every team member is responsible for maintaining housekeeping and organization of the work area, following safety guidelines and all TE Connectivity's policies and procedures.    Bonus and retention award opportunities may be available based on the successful completion of required training milestones and continued good standing.   2nd: Mon-Fri, 3pm-11:30pm (10% Shift Differential) Primary responsibilities include:

•    Polish and test fiber optic cables •    Assemble and package fiber optic connector components (as needed) •    Terminate single and multi-fiber cables •    Operate fiber router & complete over-molding process (as needed) •    Support prototype product builds, test product builds, pre-release NPI builds (as needed) •    Measure components using calipers, gages, or other measuring devices •    Complete necessary operational paperwork required to maintain the traceability of product •    Troubleshoot and perform minor repairs to equipment •    Understand cleaning methods and contamination assessment for optical assembly •    Mechanical Aptitude to safely & efficiently operate equipment (E-Stop/Soft Stop) and identify issues •    Suggest process improvements to improve overall manufacturing efficiencies •    Communicate within a team atmosphere to ensure clarity of purpose & Customer satisfaction •    After training period of 30 days, works with limited supervision to provide timely and quality
