Role

Summary The Sr. Regulatory Compliance Specialist is a liaison between the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and Alaska Airlines Maintenance and Engineering (M&E) division to ensure the highest standards of Airworthiness are maintained.  As an individual contributor, the Sr. Regulatory Compliance Specialist is a subject matter expert in the development and implementation of an integrated, comprehensive Safety Management System (SMS) for the M&E division incorporating procedures to identify and maintain compliance with current safety-related legal, regulatory, and statutory requirements.

Key Duties

Exercises considerable judgement to liaise between the FAA and Alaska’s M&E division to ensure regulatory compliance Research to provide explanations to Federal Aviation Regulations, regulatory policies and procedures to ensure compliance with internal and external standards and controls Acts as a subject matter expert in analyzing regulations to make recommendations to M&E leadership to support compliance with aviation industry and FAA regulatory standard Conducts quality compliance review of Self Disclosures and Compliance Actions and analyze corrective actions and process improvements in response to review findings Partners and coordinates with legal department to identify potential risk and other matters, including assistance with civil penalty mitigation Assists in overseeing SMS for the M&E division to ensure it incorporates procedures to identify and maintain compliance with current safety-related legal, regulatory, and statutory requirements Supporting liaison between M&E division and all other division within Alaska airlines supporting compliance with our SMS program Job-Specific Experience, Education & Skills Required A minimum of 4 years of aviation airworthiness regulatory compliance experience or related area. Bachelor’s degree or an additional two years of relevant training/experience in lieu of this degree. Effective communication skills (e.g., verbal, written, and listening). Detail-oriented and highly organized, with ability to multi-task and work independently with limited guidance in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook). High school diploma or equivalent is required. Minimum age of 18. Must be authorized to work in the U.S. Preferred Airframe and Power Plant license Job-Specific Leadership Expectations Embody our values to own safety, do the right thing, be caring and kind, and deliver performance. Salary Range $99,850 -- $149,800 / year Salary Details Pay will be based on multiple factors, including and not limited to location, relevant experience/level and skillset while balancing internal equity relative to other Alaska/Hawaiian/Horizon employees.
