This role leads the development of process designs that are an integral part of feasibility studies, conceptual designs and early basic design packages prepared by the Global Project Development Studio team for new facilities or retrofits. This is a client-facing technical role.   The PDS is a global team of subject matter experts, process architects, process, and equipment engineers within the ATLS Division of Fluor. Our team serves the life sciences, advanced manufacturing, semiconductor, data center and battery manufacturing industries. It delivers as many as fifty projects per year.   The essential job duties for this position are as follows:

Lead process engineering activities for Life Sciences projects across feasibility studies, FEED, detailed design, and project execution phases. Oversee the design and development of process systems, utilities, and manufacturing facilities, ensuring compliance with client, quality, regulatory, and project requirements. Serve as a key client-facing engineering lead, building strong relationships with client stakeholders and providing technical guidance throughout the project lifecycle. Interface with client project teams, operations, quality, maintenance, and engineering functions to align technical solutions with business objectives and project expectations. Prepare and review process engineering documentation, including design basis, process calculations, equipment specifications, and value engineering recommendations. Support project execution by developing work plans, monitoring schedules, and ensuring delivery against project milestones.Identify, analyze, and resolve complex process engineering issues, providing innovative and cost-effective technical solutions. Lead technical reviews, inspections, and audits to verify compliance with applicable standards, regulations, and client requirements. Drive process optimization, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance facility performance and project outcomes. Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineering teams and support the development of best practices and work processes. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure successful delivery of Life Sciences manufacturing and biopharmaceutical facilities. Maintain compliance with HSE, quality, and sustainability standards while supporting a culture of safety and operational excellence. Support business development activities through technical input, client engagement, and identification of opportunities for value creation.

The ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and other stakeholders. Demonstrate an elevated level of technical knowledge and proven experience in one or more of the manufacturing sectors served by ATLS, preferably in Life Science. Self-reliant and use own initiatives based on previous experience in similar facility and/or process design roles. Analytical approach to problem solving and identifying potential solutions. Experience and competent to incorporate the basis of safety into the process design and deliver an inherently safe process from the start. Ability to assist, and where required lead, the design co-ordination process on projects between technical disciplines (Architectural, HVA, Building Services, Electrical, Control/Automation)
