Title and Summary Vice President, Financial Institutions Sales - Africa, Commercial Solutions Role & Responsibilities • Mastercard Corporate Solutions is looking for a senior commercial leader to drive Financial Institution sales across Africa. • This is a front office, revenue led role with accountability for originating, scaling, and monetizing strategic FI partnerships across the region. The role will focus on activating banks as distribution engines, embedding Mastercard solutions into corporate and transaction banking propositions, and accelerating commercial payment flows across B2B, cross border, and other strategic use cases. • The successful candidate will work with leading wholesale and corporate banks, issuing banks, correspondent banks, pan African banking groups, and regional champions to identify new revenue pools, originate complex partnerships, and convert opportunity into GDV and net revenue growth. • The role will also play a central part in scaling B2B acceptance, commercializing non card payment capabilities, shaping product priorities through client insight, and driving consistent go to market execution across African markets. • We are looking for someone with deep wholesale and transaction banking experience, a strong network of senior banking leaders across Africa, and a demonstrated ability to originate, structure, and close complex partnerships across multiple markets. • This is an opportunity to help shape Mastercard’s commercial payments growth strategy across one of our most dynamic and diverse regions. • The role is based in Johannesburg, South Africa, and reports to the SVP, Head of Corporate Solutions EEMEA. All About You (Critical Requirements) • Established network of Managing Director / senior transaction banking leaders across AFRICA, with the ability to originate opportunities and open doors at C-suite level • Deep wholesale / transaction banking background is essential, with strong understanding of corporate banking, cash management, correspondent banking, and cross-border flows • Proven track record of leading teams across a matrixed, multi-country environment, driving performance through indirect and direct reporting lines • Demonstrated ability to originate, structure, and close complex FI partnerships, ideally across multiple markets • Strong commercial instinct with a track record of building revenue pools and scaling new businesses • Ability to translate strategy into front-line sales execution and measurable outcomes • Highly structured thinker, able to prioritize large, fragmented opportunities into actionable focus areas • Strong stakeholder management across product, technology, legal, and external partners • Excellent executive communication skills, with the ability to influence senior internal and external stakeholders Corporate Security Responsibility All activities involving access to Mastercard assets, information, and networks comes with an inherent risk to the organization and, therefore, it is expected that every person working for, or on behalf of, Mastercard is responsible for information security and must: Abide by Mastercard’s security policies and practices; Ensure the confidentiality and integrity of the information being accessed; Report any suspected information security violation or breach, and Complete all periodic mandatory security trainings in accordance with Mastercard’s guidelines.
