Central St West Monroe, LA 71292 The Job You Will Perform: The General Helper supports manufacturing operations by performing a wide variety of production, material handling, and quality support tasks across multiple equipment areas to ensure timely task completion while following safety and quality procedures to keep production flowing smoothly. The role requires flexibility to work any shift, including some 12-hour shifts, to meet customer demand. Responsibilities include moving product between operations—often around conveyors, crosswalks, and elevated platforms—as well as transporting materials such as ink buckets, stitch wire, strapping coils, and cutting dies. The General Helper must follow all safety rules and procedures; watch out for self and team member’s safety at all times. Always follow lock out and tag out, MSK, and always use personal protective equipment (safety glasses, ear plugs, steel toed shoes & safety vest, others as required). Must understand and carry out housekeeping standards. Must demonstrate teamwork and resolve issues effectively and professionally. Must be capable of running machines at safe speeds and top quality to meet customer needs. Primary General Helper’s duties/responsibilities include: Ability to work any shift – 8, 10 or 12 hours shifts required to meet customer demands. Previous manufacturing experience required. Products are moved from one operation to the next by the use of conveyors. General Helpers are expected to work around conveyors, crosswalks, and in some cases from elevated platforms. Transporting of products and materials including ink buckets, stitch wire boxes, coils of strapping, and over-sized cutting dies is required. Tasks must be performed in a timely fashion, following all safety procedures, and ensuring quality products arrive at the next operation. The helper is responsible for the completion of required paperwork for tracking inventory, downtime, etc., as well as computer data entry relating to production metrics. The General Helper may be utilized to fill a variety of roles including, but not limited to, working at the Die Cutter Pusher Bar, Double-Head Stitcher, Semi-Stitcher, Jumbo Folder Gluer Helper, Stock Handler, and Corrugator Stacker Operator. Counting and stacking finished product Reading factory orders Accurately reading gauges and other test equipment Utilizing basic shop math, inspecting Accurately completing quality and administrative documents and following directions This person will also be assigned to clean-up functions such as blowing down the machine, wiping off shafts, cleaning ink systems, vacuuming and sweeping the machine area, as well as picking up and shredding scrap.
Qualifications

Must be able to read a standard tape measure, read and thoroughly understand job specifications, and follow written and oral directions. Must be a self-starter, able to operate from directions or independently as needed. Demonstrated ability to add and subtract all units of measure read and copy figures, and count and record figures. A comprehension level is required to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in English in written or oral form and to deal with problems.
