Career Category Finance Job Description We are seeking a highly motivated and hands-on Accounting Manager – Financial Reporting & Transformation (AKK/ABGK) to support both the ongoing financial reporting and accounting operations of Amgen K.K. (AKK) and the establishment and operational readiness of ABGK , a newly created accounting entity within Amgen. This role combines ownership of core financial reporting and Record-to-Report (R2R) activities with responsibility for driving finance transformation initiatives, including SAP S/4HANA implementation, process simplification, and the accounting readiness of ABGK. The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring financial integrity, statutory compliance, operational excellence, and the successful delivery of strategic transformation initiatives supporting Amgen's future biosimilar and biosame business. This is an individual contributor role offering broad exposure across financial reporting, statutory and tax reporting, project accounting, finance systems, process optimization, and cross-functional collaboration. While the role has no direct people management responsibilities, it requires strong leadership through influence and close partnership with stakeholders across Finance, FP&A, Shared Services, IT, Tax, Quality, Regulatory, Safety, Supply Chain, and Commercial functions.
Key Responsibilities
1. Financial Reporting & Controllership (AKK) Own the end-to-end Record-to-Report (R2R) process and ensu re full GAAP compliance with regard to month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities. Prepare, review, and analyze financial data and information in accordance with Amgen policies and applicable accounting standards. Own both US GAAP and J-GAAP financial accounting & reporting activities . Work closely with global accounting team in managing the US GAAP book in SAP. Coordinate with internal & external auditors , as well as any applicable regulatory authorities. Support corporate tax, consumption tax, and other statutory tax reporting requirements in partnership with Regional Tax Lead and external tax advisor. Ensure internal control and policy compliance across applicable financial accounting processes. Be the accounting subject-matter-expert in supporting strategic business initiatives and cross-functional projects. Partner with the Amgen capability centre to ensure the delivery of high-quality accounting services. 2. Finance Transformation & Systems Support SAP ECC enhancements and SAP S/4HANA implementation from the accounting perspective. Support testing and cutover readiness activities in preparation for S/4HANA go- live. Drive accounting process simplification, standardization, automation, and control improvement. Support AI and digital finance initiatives t o enhance quality, operational efficiency and finance governance. 3. ABGK Readiness Establish ABGK ’s statutory accounting, reporting and tax compliance processes i n partnership with various internal stakeholders and external service providers Own the SOP documentation and implementation of applicable accounting processes for ABGK , with full compliance with Amgen policies and procedures. Manage Service Level Agreements (SLAs), cost allocation methodologies, project accounting, and finance support for ABGK. Oversee ABGK set up in S/4HANA to ensure operational readiness across finance and related business functions before go-live. 4. Cross-functional Business Partnership Build effective partnerships across multiple functions without and outside of Finance, which includes but not limited to FP&A, Global Accounting, Commercial, Technology , Tax, Procurement, Supply Chain, Quality, Regulatory, Safety and Capability Centre.
