Location: New Carlisle, IN Cleveland-Cliffs New Carlisle has an immediate opening for an Industrial Electrician in its New Carlisle, Indiana operation. The Industrial Electrician position is responsible for inspecting, troubleshooting, repairing, installing, and maintaining electrical, electronic, and automation equipment throughout the facility. The ideal candidate will have manufacturing electrical maintenance experience, strong troubleshooting skills, and the ability to work safely in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Summary of Responsibilities: • Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, install, and maintain electrical and electronic equipment throughout the facility. • Analyze electrical circuits, wiring diagrams, PLC systems, process controls, and automation equipment to diagnose and resolve issues. • Install, maintain, and repair motors, drives., generators, transformers, switchgear, control panels, and power distribution equipment. • Program, troubleshoot, and maintain PLCs, HMIs, drives, and related automation and control systems. • Perform mechanical repairs associated with electrical maintenance activities. • Operate cranes, mobile equipment, lifts, and perform necessary rigging duties in support of maintenance activities. • Complete maintenance documentation, work orders, and Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) records • Maintain safe work practices and a clean, organized work environment. • Assist operations and maintenance personnel as needed. • Other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications: • High school diploma or GED • Must take and pass the Electrical Qualification test. • Previous industrial electrical maintenance experience in manufacturing, steel, automotive, or heavy industrial environment • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and repair electrical, electronic, automation, and instrumentation systems. • Working knowledge of electrical distribution systems, motors, drives, relays, control circuits, and industrial automation equipment • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, technical manuals, and equipment documentation. • Experience using electrical testing and diagnostic equipment. • Ability to safely operate or learn to operate cranes, mobile equipment, and aerial lifts. • Strong communication, problem-solving, and teamwork skills. • Ability to work in an industrial environment that may include heights, heat, dust, noise, and varying weather conditions. • Must be self-directed and able to plan, schedule and direct work. • Ability to work rotating shifts, weekends, holidays, overtime, and emergency call-ins as required. • Applicants for this position must be currently legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. Preferred Qualifications: • Experience with PLC programming and troubleshooting, including Allen-Bradley or Siemens systems. • Experience with HMIs, VFDs, process controls, and industrial networking • Experience in steel manufacturing or other heavy industrial operations • Experience working with high-voltage power distribution systems. • Previous experience or leadership experience directing work. • Card holding Journeymen Electrician. The starting pay range for this role is $35.36/hour with a quarterly incentive plan. This position is represented by the United Steelworkers Union.
