As an Algorithms Software Engineer II , your role will encompass a wide range of responsibilities – from implementing system-level architecture updates to optimizing low-level code to maximize performance efficiency. This position is for a Software Engineer who has professional experience in the development and implementation of algorithm software for both large-scale HPC environments and highly optimized and performant real-time applications.
What You Will Do
Work alongside scientists (physicists, mathematicians, signal processing experts, and more) to understand algorithm goals and limitations. Optimize software for performance, including parallel processing and leveraging GPUs and other processing accelerators. Evolve algorithms originating in Python and MATLAB into optimized C, C++, and CUDA code. Model and test new algorithms in high-performance computing (HPC) environments. Architect, design, implement, test, and debug integrated real-time software. Work within a cross-discipline team. Contribute to proposals as well as preliminary and critical design reviews. Have opportunity (optional) to travel for customer collaboration and community interaction. Ability to obtain a DoD Top Secret clearance and meanwhile with a Secret clearance you will support meaningful unclassified and collateral tasks. This job is onsite in Plano, TX; applicants must be in the area or willing to relocate to it.
Qualifications
You Must Have Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a and a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience. Experience in developing, testing, and integrating real-time software applications written in C, C++ or closely related software languages. Development experience on Linux-based systems. Active and transferable Secret U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start . U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Qualifications
We Prefer Ability to quickly understand and navigate complex systems and established code bases. Experience with product development utilizing the Scrum techniques of the Agile software development process. Hands-on experience with Git for version control and Gitlab/Jira for repository and issue management. Experience with optimized CUDA programming for Nvidia accelerators. Experience with MATLAB, Python, and other analysis tools. Active and transferable Top Secret U.S. government issued security clearance.
