What You'll Do
At Principal, our sourcing professionals help drive business value through strategic supplier partnerships, thoughtful contract negotiations, and effective management of enterprise technology spend. As a Lead Technology Sourcing Consultant supporting our Principal Asset Management business, you'll serve as a trusted advisor to business leaders, partnering across the organization to develop sourcing strategies, optimize supplier relationships, and negotiate complex technology agreements that support business objectives. You'll manage a broad portfolio of technology-related spend, including hardware, software, SaaS, cloud solutions, and technology services. In this highly visible role, you'll work closely with business stakeholders, legal partners, and suppliers to deliver innovative solutions, manage risk, and maximize value.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and execute sourcing strategies that align with business priorities and long-term objectives. Build strong relationships with business leaders and serve as the primary sourcing consultant for assigned technology categories. Lead negotiations for complex technology agreements, including software, hardware, SaaS, cloud, and professional services contracts. Redline contracts and negotiate preferred Principal terms and conditions while balancing business, legal, financial, and operational requirements. Identify cost-saving opportunities and conduct cost-benefit analyses to support business decisions. Lead and manage RFPs, supplier evaluations, selection processes, and supplier onboarding activities. Partner with internal stakeholders to define supplier performance expectations, service levels, and contractual obligations. Provide strategic guidance throughout the sourcing lifecycle and ensure successful execution of sourcing initiatives. Manage multiple sourcing projects simultaneously while maintaining focus on priorities, timelines, and stakeholder expectations. Mentor team members and contribute to continuous improvement of sourcing practices and processes.

Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. 8+ years of experience in strategic sourcing and vendor management. Experience negotiating complex technology contracts, including hardware, software, SaaS, cloud, and technology services agreements. Proven ability to redline contracts and negotiate favorable commercial and contractual terms. Demonstrated success developing and executing sourcing and negotiation strategies across multiple business areas. Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and initiatives simultaneously. Strong analytical, financial, and business acumen. Excellent communication, relationship-building, and stakeholder management skills. Ability to influence internal and external partners at all levels of an organization. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make informed decisions using data and facts. Experience mentoring or coaching others is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience supporting technology procurement or technology category management. Experience within financial services or asset management environments is helpful but not required.
Salary Range
Information Salary ranges below reflect targeted base salaries. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance.
