Responsibilities
The Operations Manager role will be responsible for managing Operations and activities of a retirement business team. Incumbent will assist in the implementation and ongoing management of operations strategies, policies, and procedures across Principal's retirement product structure. Incumbent must effectively communicate and partner with GCH stakeholders as well as members. Delivery & Strategy Participate and demonstrate understanding of BU specific GCH strategy, including Business components by defining the business area level components (Footprint, establishing COE/Shared Services, business are ownership and role maturity) Ensure creation and execution operational plans based on the BU Specific GCH strategy for the business areas Look at opportunities where new work can be migrated to offshore through global delivery Ensure stakeholder management to support the above strategy and operational plans at the business area level by collaboration Support cost optimization and loss reduction initiatives Work with stakeholders on understanding the business problems and work towards solutions Work on Service level management and ensure Efficiency and Quality for the teams is met Ensure delivery excellence from Vendors, assist in defining and execute delivery maturity for the portfolio. People Focus Create pipeline for future leadership from existing talent through development and domain training, job assignments as needed and retention of High performers Grooming talent towards identified career tracks Drive development programs focused on Upskilling & Reskilling people. Encourage and engage team members in Brand and CSR activities Demonstrate the emotional intelligence when dealing with people and people related situations Contribution to PGS Strategic Imperatives Build GCH capabilities comparable to the GBS/GCC offshore industry Contribute to generate relevant ideas that solve Business problems Drive Commercial mindset to optimize Business processes Facilitate and contribute towards BU/GCH level innovation forums/events Compliance & Risk Contribute to maturing our risk framework Be aware and follow all the compliance related processes as laid down by the Enterprise Work with strategic leaders to Identify and build appropriate support functions that can help in sourcing, risk & compliance which will speed up the process of Productionizing complex solutions and Innovation. Qualifications achelor's degree or 15 years education in Commerce/Finance Experience: Minimum of 10-12 years in experience in US investment/retirement operations or Good working knowledge of US investment products and services, securities processing and information technology required. Excellent human relations, communication, decision making, analytical, organization, and project management skills required Skill set: Strong attention to detail, consistently able to meet timing requirements and maintain SLA, stakeholder management, Excellent people management skills, Good comprehension skills, analytical skills,detail-oriented, multitasking, ability to prioritize, time management skills, Must demonstrate possession of analytical, problem solving, interpersonal, time management and communication skills. identification/ escalation of risks and issues to maintain robust risk management.
