About the Role:

Vercel is building out its Finance Center of Excellence in India, and the Senior Accountant will be a foundational hire on that team. Reporting to the Senior Manager of Accounting you will be a key contributor to the day-to-day accounting operations of international entities globally owning core processes, keeping accounting records accurate and audit-ready, and helping build the infrastructure that scales with the business.

This role is fully remote from your home office in India, with some overlapping hours with the broader global finance team.

What You Will Do:

• Own the day-to-day bookkeeping and general ledger maintenance for the international entities in NetSuite, ensuring all transactions are recorded accurately and on time.

• Prepare and post monthly journal entries including accruals, prepayments, payroll, and intercompany recharges.

• Perform monthly account reconciliations across all balance sheet accounts and resolve open items in a timely manner.

• Closely work with accounts payables and accounts receivables team to ensure accurate accounting treatment. Support in the preparation of data for tax returns of international entities for both direct and indirect taxes and coordinate with the external consultants.

• Processing accounts payable (AP) and employee travel and expense (T&E) reimbursements, ensuring timely payments, policy compliance, accurate coding, and proper supporting documentation.

• Assist with WHT calculations, deductions, and timely deposits; prepare monthly / quarterly returns in coordination with the tax team and advisors.

• Work closely with external consultants in preparation of Financial Statements and other compliance with various authorities for international entities.

• Reconcile payroll processor output to NetSuite monthly and flag discrepancies for resolution. Create and reconcile monthly payroll journal entries for the international entities.

• Prepare supporting schedules and documentation for the annual statutory audit and coordinate with auditors on open items.

• Assist the Senior Accounting Manager on the monthly and quarterly close, meeting deadlines and flagging issues proactively.

• Support process improvement initiatives — identify manual steps that can be automated and bring ideas to the team.

• Prepare monthly flux analysis, balance sheet, and statutory-to-US GAAP reporting schedules for international entities, including timely investigation and closure of reconciling items.

• Own and maintain key accounting schedules such as accruals, prepaids, fixed assets, leases, provisions, intercompany balances, bank reconciliations, and FX revaluation support.
