Prep Assembler - INTERNAL CANDIDATES ONLY Full-time Department: Other Job Description ABOUT THE JOB This role is for internal candidates only. In this role, you will read and verify drawings used for production in order to prep and assemble heads, sills, and jambs for fenestration products (folding glass walls, sliding glass doors, stack walls, etc.). YOUR ROLE: Prep rails by attaching all gaskets, most hardware, and setting blocks to the rail for the assembly process Assemble heads, sills, and jambs Cut all two-point rods and assemble the two-point mechanism Stuff glass stops with gasket Attach gaskets and all types of hardware as needed Wrap accessories, as needed, for the Packing Department Provide high quality work in a safe manner, which meets or exceeds specific efficiency goals Visually check parts and/or glass for scratches, dings, and dents prior to assembly Proactively communicate when your jobs are ahead or behind schedule Provide feedback, as needed, to help the team standardize details and assembly drawings Handle and lift all material carefully to minimize scratches to material surrounding job carts Notify the Lead team member/Supervisor of any issues encountered (missing subcomponents, damaged material, etc.) Provide suggestions for continuous improvement within the department Qualifications BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: Must be an active Solar Innovations Associate. Previous experience in a manufacturing environment required; related trade school education (ex. trade school or technical courses) will also be accepted Must be able to safely lift up to 50lbs on a frequent basis, which also includes lifting lighter but longer extrusions Ability to complete basic mathematical calculations, including ability to read a tape measure, is required PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Blueprint Reading experience Ideal candidates will have related small component product assembly experience Basic computer skills Additional Information COMPANY DESCRIPTION: Fortune Brands Innovations, Inc. is an industry-leading home, security and digital products company.
