Boulder is nestled in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains, and only 25 miles from downtown Denver.
Position
Overview: The selected Staff Systems Engineer – Level 5 will serve as the infrastructure lead for the BOA/ESL/ESPN program, responsible for coordinating all infrastructure elements required for the software-centric systems to operate. This role includes leading the hardware team and partnering closely with system administration, network, cybersecurity, software, and integration and test teams to ensure a robust, reliable infrastructure is in place. Essential Functions: Hardware development and sustainment and CAM of program material. Guide teams through product implementation and integrations. Technical Planning: Lead technical planning, support design reviews, and manage tools to communicate and track action items internally and with customers. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with Integrated Product Team (IPT) counterparts, technical teams, and stakeholders to mature systems architecture content for large program designs. Design Readiness: Conduct pre-review assessments to ensure system readiness prior to formal design reviews. Work on large, interdisciplinary teams. Technical Mentorship: Coach and mentor engineering team members in architecture and design development while fostering strong technical networks. Demonstrate proposal, budget & scheduling proficiency, as well as business acumen. Lead Product Deliveries. Site Surveys and installations, cable management, power and cooling, and overall system infrastructure documentation. Mentor and build technical networks. The selected candidate should thrive in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations, significantly diverse assignments, and collaborative/teams comprised of all experience levels.
Basic Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline from an accredited university and 12 years of related experience; a Master’s Degree in a STEM discipline and 10 years of related experience; or a PhD with 8 years of related experience. Engineering : Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Designs new or modifies existing products, develops technical specifications for production, analyzes hardware configuration and processing solutions, and tests hardware conformance to specifications.
