Shop Supervisor

Overview & Responsibilities PURPOSE OF THE JOB  The supervisor is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of employees and resources within their assigned areas of responsibility. The supervisor receives input on requirements and priorities from operations management and production control teams and ensures that activities are run efficiently, employees are well managed, and production goals are met while maintaining established safety and quality requirements by providing leadership, supervision and support to their assigned area. BACKGROUND and EXPERIENCE Educational requirements and experience should be of a technical background (seminars, undergraduate courses, etc.) in the field of manufacturing (fabrication, machining, assembly & testing, warehouse logistics, etc). Previous experience of 5 years or more in a manufacturing environment. Demonstrated leadership abilities, interpersonal skills and customer service mentality. Demonstrated problem solving skills Demonstrated ability to manage time and priorities tasks efficiently. Demonstrated knowledge of shop specific operations within the assigned area of responsibility. Individual should have a mechanical aptitude for rotating machinery and the associated manufacturing processes, as well as the ability to read and understand drawings, product transmittals, technical documentation, operational manuals, and other technically related documentation. Strong communication skills, written and verbal. NATURE OF THE JOB Directing, supervising and controlling assigned resources for the timely execution of activities within safety, quality and productivity expectations. Developing a skilled workforce by coordinating training and providing coaching and guidance. Develop and implement change for continual improvement initiatives. Monitor and enforce compliance with established EHS policy and plant rules. CONTACT WITH OTHERS  Internal Manufacturing Support: Engineering, Drafting, Supply Chain, Production Control, Operations Management Corporate functions: EHS, Quality, HR, IT, Finance Sales and Project Managers  Union leadership team, where applicable  External Customers & other visitors to the facility for on site meetings, tests, etc. Suppliers related to tools, equipment and other work within assigned area of responsibility Travel may be requested in unique situations but is not expected to be a requirement. O supervisor recebe informações sobre os requisitos e as prioridades das equipes de gestão de operações e controle de produção e garante que as atividades sejam executadas com eficiência, que os funcionários sejam bem administrados e que as metas de produção sejam atingidas, mantendo os requisitos de segurança e qualidade estabelecidos ao fornecer liderança, supervisão e suporte à sua área designada.  FORMAÇÃO E EXPERIÊNCIA Os requisitos educacionais e a experiência devem ter uma base técnica (seminários, cursos de graduação, etc.) na área de manufatura (fabricação, usinagem, montagem e testes, logística de armazém, etc.).  Experiência prévia de 5 anos ou mais em um ambiente de manufatura/produção.  Habilidades de liderança demonstradas, habilidades interpessoais e mentalidade voltada para o atendimento ao cliente.  Comprovada capacidade de resolução de problemas.  Capacidade demonstrada de gerenciar o tempo e priorizar tarefas com eficiência.  Conhecimento demonstrado das operações específicas da fábrica dentro da área de responsabilidade designada.  O candidato deve ter aptidão mecânica para máquinas rotativas e os processos de fabricação associados, bem como a capacidade de ler e compreender desenhos, especificações de produtos, documentação técnica, manuais
