The Senior Analyst, Payment Strategy supports T-Mobile's Payment Strategy team by leveraging data, analytics, and strategic thinking to optimize the customer payment experience while managing payment risk and cost. This role partners across Product, Finance, Technology, Risk, Fraud, and Operations to analyze customer payment behavior, identify opportunities for improvement, and develop data-driven recommendations that influence payment strategy. Success in this role requires curiosity, strong analytical skills, and the ability to translate complex data into clear business insights for executive decision-making. The ideal candidate enjoys solving ambiguous problems, working with large data sets, and balancing customer experience with sound business outcomes. This role has a direct impact on how millions of customers pay T-Mobile each month and how the company manages billions of dollars in annual payment volume. Responsibilities : Analyze Customer Payment Behavior Analyze large customer payment datasets to identify trends, risks, and opportunities. Investigate payment behaviors across payment methods, customer segments, and channels. Identify root causes of payment failures, losses, and customer friction. Develop Payment Strategy Recommendations Evaluate strategies that improve payment approvals while minimizing payment losses and fraud. Build business cases supported by quantitative analysis and scenario modeling. Recommend improvements that balance customer experience, operational efficiency, and financial performance. Data Analysis & Decision Support Develop queries and leverage Snowflake to extract, analyze, and validate data. Build financial models, dashboards, and "what-if" analyses to support strategic decisions. Use AI-enabled productivity tools (such as ChatGPT and Claude) appropriately to accelerate research, analysis, documentation, and problem solving. Cross-Functional Strategy Development Partner with Product, Fraud, Risk, Technology, Finance, and Operations teams to evaluate opportunities and implement strategic initiatives. Gather business requirements and synthesize complex information into actionable recommendations. Executive Communications Develop concise executive presentations that communicate findings, recommendations, and business impacts. Present analysis and strategic recommendations to senior leadership. Industry & Market Insights (10%) Monitor payment industry trends, emerging technologies, customer behaviors, and competitor capabilities. Evaluate new payment solutions and innovations that could improve T-Mobile's payment experience.
Qualifications
Education: Required: Bachelor’s degree plus 2 years of related work experience OR combination of education and experience deemed equivalent Preferred: Acceptable areas of study include Business, Finance, Economics, Computer Science, Statistics, or related field Work experience: Required: 2-4 years experience with written communication and presentation skills. Experience with business writing and building PowerPoint presentations 2-4 years experience with strategy and problem-solving experience in framing complex problems, identifying key issues that impact business decisions and providing data driven recommendations. 2-4 years experience data analytics and financial modeling. Experience in performing financial and operating analysis and reporting, including analyzing complex data.
