Job Description
Job Purpose Verify route, alignment, levels, coordinates, tower locations, substation setting-out and as-built survey information in accordance with approved drawings and project survey control requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Verify primary and secondary survey control points, coordinates, benchmarks and reference levels. Review the contractor's survey methodology, equipment calibration certificates and survey-control procedures. Carry out check surveys for route alignment, tower locations, angle points and terminal points. Verify tower spotting, span lengths, ground levels, profiles, clearances and tower-extension requirements. Check foundation centre lines, stub-setting coordinates, levels and orientation. Verify special-crossing surveys for highways, railways, rivers, pipelines, existing transmission lines and other utilities. Confirm statutory and design clearances based on approved profiles and site conditions. Verify substation boundary, grading levels, building grid lines, equipment foundations, gantries, trenches and road alignment. Identify discrepancies between approved drawings and actual site conditions and initiate survey reports or RFIs. Maintain survey field books, coordinate registers, benchmark records and instrument-calibration records. Verify as-built coordinates, levels, route profiles and final survey drawings. Support resolution of ROW, route deviation, access and land-boundary issues through verified survey information. Key Deliverables Check-survey reports. Tower-location verification records. Qualifications
Diploma or degree in Civil Engineering, Survey Engineering or equivalent. Minimum 8 years of relevant survey experience. Experience in transmission line route surveys, tower spotting and substation setting-out. Proficiency in total station, DGPS/GNSS, auto level and applicable survey software. Knowledge of coordinate systems, benchmarks, contour surveys and survey-data management Additional Information The position will be site-based at Khavda or Surat and may require travel between project locations, contractor offices, manufacturing facilities and client offices. The successful candidate will work within a multidisciplinary AECOM Energy team supporting the safe and successful delivery of major HVDC and transmission infrastructure projects.
