Where You Will Work Chino is an open-pit copper mining complex located 15 miles from the historic mining community of Silver City in southwestern New Mexico. The historic Chino mine was among the world's first low-grade, open-pit copper mines. Today, the operation consists of a 36,000-metric-ton-per-day concentrator that produces copper and a 150-million-pound-per-year solvent extraction/electrowinning plant that produces copper cathode from solution generated by run-of-mine leaching. What You Will Do Support financial planning and analysis by translating business needs into cost models, evaluating data to identify savings and process improvements, monitoring departmental costs, assisting with budgeting and forecasting, ensuring compliance, and contributing to month‑ and quarter‑end close activities while acting as a liaison between business and technical teams to enhance financial efficiency and support site and corporate goals. Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and define business needs and actionable plans, ensuring they are translated into scalable cost models that support strategic objectives. Perform advanced analysis to uncover trends, variances, and opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements. Serves as a strategic conduit between business stakeholders and technical teams, delivering financial reports and presentations that highlight actionable insights and recommendations to reduce costs and drive revenue growth. Evaluate departmental costs and proposed solutions, develop and review budgets and forecasts, and deliver financial reports and presentations with actionable insights. Analyze large datasets to support decision‑making, build reports and dashboards, maintain compliance with regulations and policies, work cross‑functionally with operations and procurement, perform accounting tasks such as journal entries, reconciliations, variance analyses, and review financial statements, and perform other duties as requested. What You Bring To Freeport High School Diploma and 8 years financial analysis or business analytics OR Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field and 4 years of financial analysis experience OR Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field and 2 years of financial analysis experience Proficiency in SAP, Power BI, Microsoft Excel, and Business Objects Strong analytical, technical, and problem‑solving skills Effective communication and stakeholder engagement across management levels Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities Understanding of manufacturing or mining industry financial operations Understanding of OKRs and KPI tracking Understanding of financial regulations and SOX controls Subject matter expert in one or more areas Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field or higher degree Experience with OneStream, CoreStream, Ariba, and Blackline Knowledge of safety culture and principles of business conduct Demonstrated ability in mentoring, coaching, and continuous improvement Ability to manage complex datasets and deliver actionable insights What We Offer
