Location/Division Specific Information: This is a Material Handler I role in the Material handling Department with the work shift of M-F 6:30am-3:00pm. Within the Material Handling department, you will perform Material Handling and Inventory tasks and regularly use PIT equipment and Hand held WMS. In addition to daily tasks, you will participate in safety, quality, and process improvement initiatives. A Day in the Life: Receiving, examining, sorting, arranging, counting, storing, picking, and packing items for storage and/or shipment in accordance with established procedures and customer requirements. Preparing and filing routine documentation. Maintaining quality metrics. Operating material handling equipment (e.g. hand truck, pallet jack, Forklift etc). Working in and out of a +4c walk-in Cold Room and -20c walk-in Freezer.
Education
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Experience
No previous work experience required Preferred: Experience in distribution, warehouse or supply chain or related field Preferred: Experience with powered industrial trucks (order pickers) Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: Ability to analyze and solve problems independently as well as collaboratively. Self-motivated, self-starter with strong organizational skills. Strong verbal and written communication skills, successful in partnering with colleagues of differing cultural, language and educational backgrounds. Physical Requirements / Work Environment Ability to regularly sit, stand, walk, talk, and hear; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Close vision and ability to adjust focus are required. Regularly required to lift up to 20 pounds. May be required to lift weight of 45 pounds or more, with assistance and/or with equipment on occasion.
