Job Duties Under broad direction, designs, codes, tests, trouble-shoots and documents engineering systems applications. Develops test strategies used in the automated regression testing of these systems. Follows secure coding practices, performs triaging of security issues, and implements fixes to deliver secure applications. Familiar with common software vulnerabilities and leading practices to mitigate. Works on large scale, complex projects. Proactively identifies areas for improvement within the software system and development processes and proposes new solutions. Develops assignments and schedules. Job tasks, correctly performed, impact indirectly on cost containment, efficiency, profitability or operations. Requires completion of an undergraduate degree in Computer Science or similar discipline, and a minimum of 7 years of related experience, including software development experience. About the Role You own the full development cycle for the features and systems your team assigns you. At Landmark, that means working on software that oil and gas operators depend on for high-stakes decisions. You take a feature from specification through design, implementation, testing, and delivery with minimal supervision and enough judgment to make good technical decisions along the way. You contribute to code reviews, improve the codebase and processes around you without waiting to be asked, and help junior engineers grow. The quality of what you build shows up in production software used by operators worldwide. Key Responsibilities Lead the design, development, testing, and documentation of scalable software systems, ensuring alignment with engineering best practices. Architect and implement components that integrate seamlessly within a broader ecosystem using REST APIs, database queries, and library calls. Apply system design patterns to build efficient, maintainable, and high-performing solutions. Guide technical research and development efforts, mentor team members, and ensure timely delivery of high-quality software. Stay current with emerging technologies and contribute to continuous improvement across the development lifecycle. Qualifications & Experience Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline is mandatory. Minimum 7+ years of hands-on software development experience is mandatory. Experience leading teams is preferred. Proven leadership experience or readiness to take on a team lead role. Strong background in project design, execution, and data analysis. Excellent communication, analytical, and decision-making skills are mandatory. Oil & Gas domain experience is a plus.
