Overview of the job We are seeking an R&D Director to take on a highly autonomous and influential role, driving business growth by expertly integrating deep consumer insights into comprehensive proposition and product design, ensuring high-quality execution. This position offers significant visibility, reporting directly to the R&D Senior Director. Responsibilities will include cultivating a motivated R&D team of up to 10 employees and developing the operational infrastructure necessary to support a rapidly expanding business. The successful candidate will have regular exposure to senior leadership, including the General Manager and above. Preferred candidates will possess a minimum of 8-10 years of experience in India's FMCG R&D sector, along with demonstrated capabilities in team leadership and organizational design and growth.
Your team
This role reports to Senior Director, R&D and will be responsible for managing an organization of between 4 to 7 direct reports along with working with multi-functional teams across the value stream. Responsibilities of the role Develop and bring to life a winning portfolio for the business including: Drive clear definition of Consumer target, clear consumer insights and solutions to consumer tensions which drive category growth. Define role of different forms and product requirements in the portfolio to best deliver against the consumer jobs. Develop innovation drumbeat for which delivers deliver against portfolio growth goals integrating superior consumer performance and structural savings glidepaths. Coach their team to deliver outstanding regional consumer and product development work including technical and consumer-based assessment methods. Partner across functions including Commercial and Supply to support current and future innovation needs and business continuity Assess regional competitive landscape and develop strategies to get and stay ahead; lead development of robust performance and claims strategies that support strong commercialization programs. Ensure good governance practices in daily work – quality, regulatory, safety.
