About this role
We are looking for the right people — people who want to innovate, achieve, grow and lead. We attract and retain the best talent by investing in our employees and empowering them to develop themselves and their careers. Experience the challenges, rewards and opportunity of working for one of the world’s largest providers of products and services to the global energy industry. About the Role
You will focus on building the visualization layer for next-generation geoscience applications. This role is centered on displaying, exploring, and interacting with large-scale scientific datasets within modern web applications. You will work closely with front-end engineers, AI engineers, and domain experts to develop high-performance visualization capabilities that allow users to interact with millions of data points in real time. You will help design and implement rendering systems, data processing pipelines, and visualization frameworks that transform complex geoscience data into interactive visual experiences. You will build software for the following domain:
Geoscience - geology, geophysics, or petrophysics
Technologies used vary by team and include
TypeScript, JavaScript, C++, and Python Angular, React, and Node.js WebGL, WebGPU, Three.js, deck.gl, D3.js, Cesium, or similar visualization frameworks Cloud platforms including Azure and AWS
Containerization and orchestration tooling such as Docker and Kubernetes Job Duties
Design and implement high-performance visualization components for complex scientific and engineering datasets Build rendering systems capable of displaying and interacting with millions of points, vectors, surfaces, or spatial objects Design interaction models for zooming, filtering, selection, annotation, and navigation of large datasets Optimize visualization performance across CPU, GPU, and memory Use AI-assisted development tools to accelerate implementation, debugging, performance tuning, and test generation for visualization components Evaluate emerging AI-assisted approaches for visualization generation, interaction design, and data exploration Collaborate with UI engineers to integrate visualizations into application workflows Develop efficient client-side data structures, indexing strategies, and pipelines Evaluate and integrate visualization libraries, rendering frameworks, and graphics technologies where appropriate Apply secure coding practices and participate in code reviews Communicate clearly across a distributed, cross time zone team Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Graphics, Visualization, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience 5+ years of software development experience Strong understanding of computer graphics fundamentals, rendering pipelines, shaders, and GPU programming concepts Experience developing interactive 2D and 3D visualization for Scientific application or Games. Experience working with large datasets using Level-of-Detail (LOD), streaming, caching, and performance optimization techniques. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Experience profiling and optimizing rendering and application performance Experience displaying and interacting with very large datasets in web applications Experience with GPU-accelerated rendering technologies such as WebGL, WebGPU, Three.js, deck.gl, Cesium, or similar frameworks Experience optimizing rendering performance, memory consumption, and application responsiveness Experience developing interactive visualizations involving panning, zooming, selection, filtering, layering, or spatial navigation Experience profiling and troubleshooting performance issues in modern browsers Experience consuming APIs and streaming large datasets to client applications Clear written and verbal communication, including the ability to explain technical trade-offs to teammates and stakeholders Experience using AI development tools in
