About the role
As the Staff Engineer, Thermal Systems Engineering, you will play a key role in the design, analysis, and optimization of data center cooling systems, with an emphasis on advanced applied water-cooled chiller solutions. Your expertise will directly impact our customers by ensuring the deployment of robust, exceptionally efficient, and reliable cooling solutions. You will provide critical technical support throughout the project lifecycle, collaborating with cross- functional teams to drive innovation in data center thermal management and achieve exceptional system performance.
Key Responsibilities
As a Staff Engineer, Thermal Systems Engineering, you’ll be responsible for: Assisting in the performance selection, evaluation, and specification of applied water-cooled chiller systems for data centers. Supporting the selection process by collaborating with engineering, marketing, sales, and operations teams to ensure thermal system compatibility and effective communication across project stakeholders. Contributing to technical reviews and providing support during all project phases, including the review of engineering drawings, specifications, and submittals related to applied chiller systems. Identifying and helping resolve technical issues impacting thermal system performance, reliability, and sustainability, escalating complex challenges to senior engineers as needed. Working with vendors, consultants, and internal teams to support compliance with industry standards and client-specific requirements for data center cooling solutions. Participating in initiatives that drive innovation and continuous improvement in data center thermal management technologies and practices.
Requirements
We are looking for people who are innovative, highly analytical, and collaborative . If this is you, get in touch. As a minimum you must have: Bachelor’s in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering with 8+ years of experience in HVAC engineering, with a strong emphasis on performance modeling, design, and testing of chiller or commercial refrigeration systems; OR Master’s degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering with 5+ years of experience in HVAC engineering, with a strong emphasis on performance modeling, design, and testing of chiller or commercial refrigeration systems; OR PhD in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering with 2+ years of experience in HVAC engineering, with a strong emphasis on performance modeling, design, and testing of chiller or commercial refrigeration systems. Although not necessary, it would be nice if you have: Expertise in thermal analysis softwares (e.g., EES, Dymola). Proven expertise in large-scale projects. Familiarity with industry standards (ASHRAE, AHRI) and regulations. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with a record of accomplishment of delivering high-quality results on schedule. Effective communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to diverse audiences. A collaborative mindset as a team player with a passion for innovation and continuous improvement.
