Position
Summary: The Product Owner – Windchill PLM is a strategic technology leader responsible for driving the development, optimization, and continuous improvement of Rolls-Royce Power Systems' PTC Windchill Product Lifecycle Management environment and associated engineering toolchain. This role bridges engineering, manufacturing, quality, IT, and business stakeholders — combining strong product ownership capabilities with deep technical expertise in Windchill, CAD/ECAD integrations, and Digital Thread principles to deliver measurable business value. The ideal candidate brings extensive hands-on Windchill experience, a solid understanding of systems engineering concepts, and a passion for enabling engineering excellence through modern PLM solutions.
What you will be doing
Define and execute the Windchill PLM product vision and roadmap — gather and prioritize requirements from engineering, manufacturing, quality, and supply chain stakeholders; translate business needs into user stories and acceptance criteria; manage the product backlog; and define KPIs to measure platform performance, adoption, and stakeholder satisfaction. Own and optimize core PLM processes — including Document Management, Change Management, Part & BOM Management, CAD Data Management, Workflow Automation, and Configuration Management — and govern tool enhancements, upgrades, testing, deployments, and compliance with security, product integrity, and regulatory requirements. Advance Digital Thread and engineering integration — apply Digital Thread principles to improve data continuity and traceability across engineering disciplines, support PTC Creo users, and lead integration initiatives between Windchill and enterprise systems including ERP, MES, and CAD applications. Lead Agile delivery and cross-functional collaboration — work with distributed, multidisciplinary, and international Agile/Scrum teams to deliver high-quality platform enhancements, manage stakeholder expectations, lead UAT and production deployments, and drive user training and change management initiatives to maximize adoption.
Basic Requirements
Associate’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems with 4+ years of hands-on experience with PTC Windchill PLM, OR Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems with 2+ years of hands-on experience with PTC Windchill PLM, OR Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, OR PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, OR 6+ years of hands-on experience with PTC Windchill PLM in lieu of a degree Preferred Requirements: Demonstrated experience working in Agile/Scrum environments, including defining requirements, writing user stories, and managing product backlogs. Knowledge of engineering change management, product structures, BOM management, and document control within a PLM environment. Hands-on experience with Windchill configuration, customization, upgrades, and deployment projects, combined with advanced expertise in PTC Creo and familiarity with ECAD environments (EPLAN, Zuken E3, or
