Requirements: Must have at least 12 months of consecutive work history with one employer and no additional job gaps in employment greater than 6 months in the past 36 months. If applicant has been laid off or providing child or elder care, the employment gap will be increased to 18 months. Previous work history will not apply to applicants who have been full time students consecutively for the last 36 months. Rehire criteria is a minimum waiting period of 180 days. Job Title: Hatchery Worker (Utility Position) Job Grade: Class 2 FLSA Status: Nonexempt Position reports to: Hatchery Prod Mgr Disc vs Non Disc: N Location: Wadesboro Hatchery- Wadesboro NC Schedule: Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday Hours: 8:00 AM until the job is complete. Averages 8 to10 hours per shift. Work schedule is subject to change based upon production needs. Position Summary: This position is responsible for the wellbeing of the chicks in the hatchers to make sure they are comfortable at all times during the shift, checking seals inside setters. Others duties may be assigned. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Responsible for assessing chicks comfort level by analyzing vent temperatures and normal traits of chicks every hour and a half until chicks are pulled. Must be able to enter information into an Excel Spreadsheet. (50%) Must be able to read and record setters and hatcher rooms temperatures. (20%) Others duties, responsibilities and activities may change or be assigned at any time with or without notice, assisting maintenance to insure trays are turning correctly on the setter buggies. Dumping cull eggs, pulling empty farm and setter buggies to the Egg Room. Sort chicks to remove cull birds in accordance to Animal Welfare standards.
