This position provides practical, risk-based compliance guidance, supports regulatory obligations, strengthens the compliance control environment, and helps identify and manage market conduct risks across a fast-paced global trading business. What You’ll Do
Develop a strong understanding of Commercial trading strategies and initiatives to provide timely, practical compliance advice that supports business decisions and effective risk management. Advise on regulatory requirements, internal policies, and compliance obligations affecting trading activities while partnering with cross-functional teams to implement compliance programs and controls. Conduct trade surveillance and monitoring activities, analyze trading behavior and market data, investigate potential issues, and escalate risks as appropriate. Deliver compliance and audit-related reviews, support corrective action plans, and identify opportunities to strengthen compliance processes and controls. Develop, maintain, and improve compliance procedures, guidelines, documentation, and regulatory reporting processes. Partner with trading, legal, finance, risk management, exchanges, clearing brokers, and system vendors to support compliance objectives and onboarding activities, including training and communications requirements. Use data analytics and reporting tools to identify trends, assess risks, provide compliance insights, and support business decision-making. Develop and deliver compliance training programs and serve as a compliance resource for stakeholders across the organization.
What You’ll Bring – Required
Legally authorized to work in the job posting country Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline 3 or more years of relevant experience in compliance, regulatory affairs, auditing, commercial trading support, or a related discipline
What Makes You Stand Out – Preferred
Strong knowledge of U.S. commodity trading regulations, including Dodd-Frank, the Commodity Exchange Act, and exchange market conduct requirements Experience supporting commercial trading organizations with exposure to front- and mid-office trading activities Knowledge of physical and financial crude oil, refined products, NGL, and midstream markets Experience with trade surveillance, compliance monitoring, audit execution, and regulatory examinations Experience with Energy Trading and Risk Management systems such as SAP, RightAngle, or Openlink Working knowledge of data analytics, compliance reporting, and market data analysis. Professional compliance or audit certifications such as CRCM or similar credentials Experience coordinating work, providing guidance, or mentoring others on compliance-related projects Experience interpreting and applying laws, regulations, policies, and compliance requirements Experience analyzing data, investigating issues, assessing risk, and developing recommendations Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to influence and collaborate across multiple stakeholder groups Ability to manage multiple priorities, exercise sound judgment, and work independently in a fast-paced environment
Compensation Range This position has a base salary range of $125,100- $152,900. At Phillips 66, we are committed to pay transparency and competitive, equitable compensation. Each role is assigned a salary grade with a defined pay range, benchmarked against industry peers.
