Job Description
We are currently looking for a Director of Logistics to lead our team in Malaysia. As Director, Logistics, you will lead foodpanda Malaysia's logistics organisation, owning the end-to-end rider experience while driving operational excellence, efficiency, and innovation across the country. You will develop strategies to optimise fleet operations, strengthen rider engagement, ensure regulatory compliance, and build a high-performing logistics organisation that supports sustainable business growth.
Key responsibilities
As a passionate leader, you will be empowered to take full responsibility of the logistics operations of the business Find ways to drive logistics efficiency in the whole country, by defining our city structure, our incentive schemes and managing our supply/demand relationship Strategy – Proactively proposing new strategies to improve our set-up. We are not the kind of company where we want to maintain the status quo. We always want to be one step ahead Owning rider experience end to end, through logistics quality & efficiency, content improvements, and performance management. Also focus on building a very engaged rider community by working with partners across verticals to offer something meaningful for them Work closely with different government departments to ensure our fleet operations are compliant with all p-hailing regulations Leading innovation & expansion in foodpanda Malaysia, in close cooperation with our Commercial Director. Analytics – Analyze and track KPIs (lots of it) to improve logistics performance, and take customer and rider experience to the next level! Build and structure a high performance team and drive them to success Digitalize and automate internal processes in all the logistics verticals Delivering solid data-driven analyses to all departments,requiring a 360 degree understanding of our business.
Qualifications
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or another quantitative discipline. 12–15+ years of experience in high-growth technology companies, startups, consulting, investment banking, or similarly fast-paced environments. Proven leadership experience in logistics operations, including both hard operations (fleet management) and soft operations (fleet operations, content management, and rider operations). Strong analytical capabilities with advanced Excel skills; SQL proficiency is an advantage. Demonstrated ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable business decisions. Strong track record of driving operational excellence, process optimisation, automation, and continuous improvement. Experience leading cross-functional teams and influencing senior stakeholders within complex matrix organisations. Highly organised, proactive, adaptable, and comfortable managing multiple priorities in a dynamic environment. Strong understanding of e-commerce or marketplace businesses is highly desirable. Exceptional communication skills in Bahasa Malaysia and English. Any other language is a plus.
