The full-spectrum Capital One Global Enterprise Communications team is responsible for all aspects of the company’s communications strategy and execution in order to propel business imperatives while promoting and protecting the reputation of Capital One. Our purview includes corporate and brand media relations, issues and reputation management, financial communications, and associate communications, as well as a full-service content and creative storytelling team that brings the story of Capital One to life on internal and external channels.  We are communicators, writers, creative directors and multimedia experts, and we are all storytellers.

Capital One is seeking a highly motivated and experienced principal associate to to support external communications for our Premium Products and Experiences line of business. By joining our team, you’ll be expected to push the envelope in driving premium narrative around Premium Products & Travel and Loyalty, Marketing & Spend Experiences to external audiences. This role will be instrumental in managing media inquiries, developing reports, supporting proactive media relations, supporting executive thought leadership and vetting business engagements for reputation risk. Working across teams, you’ll help deliver impactful campaigns and foster strong relationships with key stakeholders. This position requires exceptional judgment, strong project management skills, an ability to build relationships in a highly matrixed environment, and a sustained focus on delivering results. Creative problem-solving, an ability to read the data and the room, and a passion for storytelling are all critical to success in this role. Empathy, teamwork and a sense of humor are essential.

Assist in the development and execution of proactive communication, talent and  tastemaker campaigns and team operations under the guidance of senior team members Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to execute program elements,  Liaise with media on in-bound media inquiries Create materials such as media messaging, pitches, media lists, briefing books, social posts for executives Provide project management support horizontally across team, including developing workback plans, keeping project trackers, distilling meetings into actionable next steps  Assist with the development of measurement and media coverage reports  Coordinate contract deliverables and logistics for talent and tastemaker partners  Manage and optimize communications reporting and analytics  Basic Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree or military experience At least 3 years of external communications experience Preferred Qualifications: Public relations or communications experience in financial services, technology, or consumer brands At this time, Capital One will not sponsor a new applicant for employment authorization for this position.
